A BJP functionary was injured when some unidentified persons attacked him at Rajamadam area in this district today.
Police said Kannan alias Rajendran of Kollukadu was returning after completing today's campaign work when he was attacked by some unidentified persons with sickle.
Rajendran had been rushed to the Thanjavur medical college hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.
