BJP municipal councillor Anil Sabharwal dies

BJP municipal councillor Anil Sabharwal today died at a hospital here after brief illness, civic officials said.

Sabharwal, 49, a South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) councillor, was admitted to hospital, a municipal official said.

"He was a councillor from west Delhi. His cremation will take place tommorrow at 4 pm at Punjabi Bagh crematorium," South Delhi Mayor Subhash Arya said in a statement.

Later, a local court, where he was prodeuced, rejected his bail plea and remanded him to a 14-day judicial custody till July 26.
