Case of negligence filed after open nullah claims woman's life

City Police today registered a case against the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation authorities in connection with the death of a woman who drowned in an open drain in Secunderabad.

Satyavani (26) died last evening after falling into a nullah along a footpath. The nullah was overflowing because of a sudden downpour earlier in the day.

A case was registered against GHMC officials under section 304A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC, Gopalpuram police station's inspector S Ram Chandra Reddy said.
