A month-long Chinese musical is being staged here to commemorate the 400th death anniversary of world-famous author William Shakespeare.
The musical named "With Love, William Shakespeare", presented in Beijing's Star Theater till the end of this month, reinterprets the classics of Shakespeare, including Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, The Taming of the Shrew and A Midsummer Night's Dream, in the context of modern China.
It narrates the story of four young persons who turn to Shakespeare's works for answers whenever their relationships are in trouble, only to end up in failure and disappointment, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The British Council has sponsored a global celebration of Shakespeare for the anniversary.
