Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today promised financial help to a girl injured in the April 17 bomb blast outside BJP office here ahead of the May 5 Assembly polls.
"The government will provide financial help. The money will be given in instalments to the girl," he told reporters after the girl submitted a memorandum seeking help at his official residence here.
N S Leesha, a college student who was among the 16 injured, said government should provide necessary financial help as her father is a daily wage earner and had spent nearly Rs four lakh for her treatment.
The government has already spent Rs 2.30 lakh for her medical needs, Leesha added.
Doreswamy, who accompanied his daughter, said he was seeking financial help for further medical treatment as Leesha has to undergo two limb surgeries.
"She had an open crushed fracture on her left leg with her bone totally shattered and another large wound on her leg. We require another Rs 10-15 lakh for this purpose," he said.
She had aspired to become an aeronautical engineer, but now she has decided to be a computer engineer.
