Cocaine worth Rs 8 crore seized

Army jawans have seized cocaine worth approximately Rs 8 crore in Manipur and caught two civilians, officials said today.
Based on a specific input received from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), troops of the Red Shield Division launched a joint operation in Churachandpur town and seized a consignment of 1.5 kg of cocaine on August 20, an Army communique said.
Two persons - Paolun Simte, 58, and Khaijapau, 65, - were apprehended by the jawans in the case.
In another case, the tropps apprehended a People Liberation Army (PLA) cadre from general area Torbung Bazar in Churachandpur today, it said.
