Cong activists end their five-day hunger strike

Congress activists who were on hunger strike for five days demanding issuance of roll numbers to SC/BC/OBC college students covered under Post-Matric Scholarship scheme today called off their fast.
Chairman of Scheduled Castes (SC) Department of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Raj Kumar and others Congress leaders served juice to those who were on hunger strike.
The party claimed that the hunger strike was called as the authorities accepted their demands. They also postponed tomorrow's 'gherao' programme of Phagwara ADC office.

Addressing party workers 'victory' rally on this occasion, Raj Kumar assured dalit students that on coming to power in 2017, Congress party would solve their problem permanently by ensuring release of regular funds under the Scheme.
