Constable attacked by offender dies

A head constable, attacked by an alleged offender, in the city succumbed to his injuries today.

C Thyagarajan, attached to Kotturpuram police station here was stabbed on his neck by Vimal Raj yesterday when the former went to question him in connection with a burglary case.

Thyagrajan was admitted to a private hospital where a surgery was performed on him but he died in the wee hours of today, police said.

Vimal Raj has been arrested under different sections of Indian Penal Code, they added.
