Cop held for abetting wife's suicide

A lower rung police official was arrested here today for allegedly abetting suicide of his wife, police said.

Police Naik Sunil Kharat (35)'s wife Samal (23) had allegedly hanged herself in their house last afternoon, apparently due to frequent quarrels between the couple, a Palghar police station official said.

Kharat and Samal has two minor sons.

A case was booked against Kharat on the complaint lodged by parents of the deceased woman.

Further investigation is underway.
