Copper prices further rose by 0.08 per cent to Rs 395.45 per kg in futures market today as speculators raised their bets, tracking a firm trend at spot market on rising demand amid better trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February edged up by 30 paise, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 395.45 per kg, in a business turnover of 285 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month April traded higher by 20 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 398.65 per kg in three lots.
Analysts said, besides surging demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets, a firming trend overseas mainly influenced copper prices at futures trade.
