Copper and nickel weakened by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today owing to slackened demand from consuming industries amid a weakening global trend.
Traders said sentiments remained subdued after copper fell for the fourth day and traded near the lowest in six years in global markets amid concern that a slowing economy in China will hurt demand in the world's biggest consumer and as a strong dollar makes metals less attractive as an asset.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months slid 0.9 per cent at USD 5,073 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
