Copra prices dropped in an otherwise sluggish spices market today due to subdued demand from stockists and retailers amid lower export offtake.

Rest all other spices ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai dropped by Rs 1,000 per quintal to Rs 13,000 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 14,000.

Copra office Alapuzha, copra Kozhikhode and copra edible Mumbai declined by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 6,400, Rs 6,200 and Rs 8,000 as against Rs 6,500, Rs 6,300 and Rs 8,100 respectively.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):
