Coriander, kalaunji rise on increased demand

Coriander and kalaunji prices were up by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on pick up in demand from stockists and retailers amid fall in supplies from producing belts.

Coriander and kalaunji tradedy Rs 200 each higher at Rs 11,900-16,900 and Rs 22,400-23,400 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said rising demand from stockists and retailers against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up coriander and kalaunji prices.

Following are today's quotations:

Ajwain (per kg) 175-220, black pepper (per kg) 750-950, betel-nut (kg) 280-330, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,725-1,745 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,825-1,925.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 820-890, cardamom (colour robin) 760-800, cardamom bold 790-850, cardamom extra (bold) 1,000-1,030 and cloves 800-910.
