Couple on way to distribute daughter's wedding invite killed

Tragedy struck a couple on their way to distribute invitations for the marriage of their daughter slated for next month when they were killed after a car hit their two-wheeler near here today.

The mishap occurred at Naral as the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the two-wheeler from behind, police said.

Under the impact, Nagarajan, a farmer, and his wife Jaya were thrown off the vehicle and fell into a roadside pit, suffering serious injuries.

They died while being rushed to a hospital, police said adding the car driver was absconding.
