Court frames charges in BJP leader murder case

A court here today framed charges against three accused in the murder of BJP State General Secretary Auditor V Ramesh.

The charges were framed against Police Fakruddin, Bilal Malik and Panna Ismail, who allegedly hacked Ramesh to death in Salem on July 19 last year.

Judge, Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Bomb Blast Cases at Poonamallee, M Moni framed charges that includes murder, criminal conspiracy and promoting enmity between different groups on several grounds including religion.

"Also, charges were framed against them for several offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act," Special Public Prosecutor, CSS Pillai told PTI.

The three men, also accused in the murders of BJP leader Dr V Arvind Reddy in Vellore and Hindutva activist "milk vendor" Suresh Kumar in Madurai. They were provided with the copies of chargesheet in these two cases of murders.
 

Charges have already been framed against them in the July 2, 2013 murder of S Vellaiyappan, Tamil Nadu State Secretary of the Hindu Munnani, a Sangh Parivar organisation.
