"We lambast the central government for not addressing the long pending principal demands and turning a deaf ear on one rank one pension and enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000," CPMFWA district president, Ram Lal Dogra, said in a statement here.

Dogra asked the members of the Association to observe Independence Day as "Black Day" by wearing black badges as a protest mark for not being addressed for their problems.

Dogra asked the Home Ministry in particular to provide immediate relief to pre-2006 retired employees who are the most suffering class of the CPMFs.
