Crude palm oil declines 0.45% on sluggish demand

Traders pare positions as stocks pile up

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Crude palm oil prices fell 0.45 per cent to Rs 526.30 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced holdings amidst sluggish demand in the spot market.

Further, adequate stocks in the physical market also put pressure on crude palm oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in July eased by Rs 2.40, or 0.45 per cent to Rs 526.30 per 10 kg in business turnover of 105 lots.

The June contract shed Rs 1.50, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 532.20 per 10 kg in 17 lots.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by speculators following subdued demand mainly led to the fall in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
