Food company Danone Dairy has launched operations in the city with entire portfolio of products as part of efforts to strengthen its southern region presence.
Danone, which started dairy business in the country in 2010, recently started operations in Chennai. With the launch, the entire portfolio of the dairy would be available in outlets in the city, a company statement said.
"Chennai was an inevitable choice for Danone to start the business given the rising middle class and evolving dietary habits," Danone Dairy Country Manager Manjari Upadhye said.
"Our entry in Chennai is an important step towards expanding our footprint across key markets in India," he said.
"Danone Dairy offering in India include dairy products including yoghurt range, UHT products like smoothies, buttermilk and lassi," the statement said.
