Dasanglu Pul sworn is as Arunachal Pradesh MLA

Newly elected BJP MLA from Hayuliang assembly constituency Dasanglu Pul was today sworn in as the member of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

Speaker Tenzing Norbu Thongdok administered the oath to Pul in a simple ceremony organised at the Nokmey Namati Hall of the Assembly in presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his cabinet colleagues besides majority of the MLAs.

Dasanglu, the third wife of former Chief Minister Kalikho Pul, won the bye-election held on November 19 last defeating her lone rival Yompi Kri, an Independent candidate, by a margin of 942 votes.

Dasanglu was the consensus candidate of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) of which, BJP is an alliance partner.
 

The seat fall vacant after Kalikho Pul allegedly committed suicide on August 9, this year.

The BJP has strength of 12 legislators in the house of 60, while the PPA has 43 MLAs, Congress three and two Independents.
