A 38-year-old drug trafficker was arrested and 291 kilogram of ganja was seized from his possession in Ashok Nagar area of East Delhi.
On a tip off that a tempo carrying a huge quantity of ganja was coming from Andhra Pradesh via Noida towards New Ashok Nagar, police laid a trap and during checking recovered 291 kg ganja from the vehicle and arrested its driver on May 24, police said.
The arrested, Manoj Kumar Palei, who hails from Bhadrak district of Orissa, smuggled the drug from Andhra Pardesh to New Delhi, police said.
Manoj, who earlier worked as a helper on a private truck, used the tempo to smuggle Ganja from Andhra Pardesh to New Delhi for easy money, they said.
