Dengue was contained in Mizoram after it had reached endemic proportion last year, the state health department today said.

"There has been not a single case of the vector-borne disease in March. While six cases were reported in February, January witnessed 14 such cases," Health Department's Joint Director (Malaria) Thangkima said.

With 580 cases of dengue being reported last year, an epidemic like situation existed in the state.

The first such case was detected in October and as many as 675 people have been affected since then. However, there were no reports of deaths during the period.
