Double delight for Bengal's Anoushka

Local girl Anoushka Singh displayed remarkable strength and skill to pocket the Under-12 and U-14 titles at the IIFL Wealth Tennis Championship Series, the All India Ranking Championship Series 7, at BTA courts here today.

In the U-12 girls section, Anoushka, seeded second, sped through the tournament, not dropping a single set through her way to the final.

She continued her fine form in the final defeating top seed Sauya Ronde of Telengana 6-4, 6-2 to claim the title and Wild Card entry for the IIFL Wealth Asian Tour Finals scheduled for January 2018.

Seeded third in U-14 category, Anoushka again made the semifinal without dropping a set and stunned top seed Bhumi Shekhar 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 to storm into final.
 

She defeated second seed Taru Sai Joshi 6-2, 6-0 for her second crown.

Final Results U-12: Boys: Dhananjay Athreya b Rohan Agarwal 6-2, 6-4; Girls: Anoushka Singh b Sauya Ronde 6-4, 6-2

U-14 Boys: Ritabrata Sarkar b Arunavo Majumder 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (5); Girls: Anoushka Singh Taru Sai Joshi 6-2, 6-0.
