EC orders repoll in two WB booths

The Election Commission today ordered repoll in two polling stations in Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling parliamentary constituencies, which went to polls on April 17 in the state's first phase of elections, because of EVM malfunctioning.

Announcing this here today, the OSD in CEO's office Amit Roy Chowdhury said the repoll would be held on April 21 from 7 AM to 6 PM.

The repoll will be held at polling station number 195 at Zilla Parishad Dak Bungalow Room No 2 under Dhupguri Assembly segment of Jalpaiguri constituency and polling station number 29 at Vidyasagar Pathsala under Siliguri Assembly segment of Darjeeling constituency, he said.
 

In both cases, EVMs malfunctioned disrupting the polling process. Reports were sent to the EC, which today ordered repoll in both the polling stations, he said.
