Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour in Nagaland as people braved the drizzle and offered namaz in the morning at idgahs in Kohima and Dimapur.
Nagaland Governor P B Acharya and Chief Minister T R Zeliang extended greetings and best wishes on the occasion.
In his message, the Governor said India is a secular democratic country and every citizen has the constitutional right to follow and propagate the faith he believes in.
Chief Minister Zeliang expressed hope that the spirit of Eid-ul-Fitr will herald in a new era of peace, love and prosperity, and especially wished Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion.
