Press Trust of India  |  Biharsharif

Eight idols have been stolen from two temples in Bihar's Nalanda district, a police official said today.

The miscreants stole seven idols from Thakurbari temple in Maharajganj village and a precious black stone being worshipped by locals from a Shiva temple in Tungi village last night, Superintendent of Police Vivekanand said.

The idols were found missing in the morning by the villagers when they visited the temples for prayer, he said.

The local police stations have initiated probe into the matter, the SP said.
