Elderly prisoner dies

A 67-year old man, serving

imprisonment at the Central Prison here for sexually assaulting a six-year old girl, died of alleged breathing difficulty in the Government Hospital here in the wee hours of today.

Chandrabose developed breathing problem last night and was immediately shifted to the GH, where he died without responding to treatment, they said.

The Mahila Court in Erode has recently convicted and sentenced Chandrabose to one year imprisonment for his alleged involvement in the sexual assault of a minor girl a few months ago.
