Elderly woman's body found

The decomposed body of an

elderly woman was found inside a flat at Baranagar on the northern fringe of Kolkata today.

The police said the body of Supti Seth (72) was found after the police broke open her flat when neighbours complained of stench coming from the apartment.

She was strangulated and her hands were tied with a rope, DC DD Barrackpore police commissionarate, P Sudhakar said.

Seth was staying alone in the flat on Jogendra Basak Road in Baranagar. A case of murder has been lodged and enquiry is on, the police said.
