The wild elephant came from Amsoi hill through the Sonaikuchi elephant corridor and attacked the woman killing her on the spot near Jagiroad, sources said.
The deceased was identified as Azifa Begum.
Due to population increase in Sonaikuchi, forest department sources said the elephant corridor has been partially blocked in forest land leading to man-elephant conflict as the animals come out in search of fodder.
