Eminent Bengali actress hospitalised

Eminent Bengali actress Supriya Devi was hospitalised following pain in her abdomen, authorities of a private hospital said today.

The 79-year-old actress was admitted to the super-speciality Belle Vue Clinic last evening following acute abdominal pain, hopital CEO P Tandon said.

"She has been treated. She is fine now and will be discharged tomorrow," he told PTI.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee went to see her this evening.

The yesteryear film actress who had won Padma Shri had acted in several Bengali films like Devdas, Chowringhee, Meghe Dhaka Tara and Komal Gandhar.
