A special court for Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) cases here today convicted a former executive engineer, working in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), in a 2008 graft case and handed him rigorous imprisonment for one year.
The court found M A Mannan guilty for the offences under Prevention of Corruption Act and also imposed on him a fine of Rs 2,000.
Mannan, now 62, was trapped by ACB in 2008 when he accepted a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a contractor for clearing his bills, ACB DySP Ashok Kumar said.
Mannan worked as an executive engineer in the office of Zonal Commissioner (South Zone) at GHMC.
