Exide Industries today reported 16.92 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 181.32 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 155.08 crore in the same period last fiscal, Exide Industries said in a BSE filing.
Total income from operations during the quarter under review stood at Rs 2,174.55 crore as against Rs 1,965.39 crore in the year-ago period.

Total expenses during quarter were higher at Rs 1,932.41 crore as compared with Rs 1,747.87 crore in the same period last fiscal, the company added.
The board of directors of the company declared an interim dividend of Rs 1.60 per share of face value Re 1 each for the year 2016-17, it said.
Shares of Exide Industries ended the day at Rs 202.10 apiece, down 0.66 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
