An eight-year-old boy, who was abducted by his family friend from Vijay Nagar area here, was later rescued from Ghaziabad railway station, police said today.
"Shubham was abducted by a family friend Rinku yesterday around 2 pm when he was returning back from his school," SHO, Vijay Nagar, Hari Dayal Singh Yadav said.
"Budh Prakash, father of the child, said that earlier the accused, Rinku, who is a native of district Kaushambi, had been staying in their family," Yadav said.

On Friday afternoon when the boy was returning back to home, Rinku, on the pretext of dropping him at his residence, lured him away towards railway station, said Yadav.
Worried parents searched for their son and somehow reached Ghaziabad railway station. Seeing his parents, the abducted child raised an alarm.
Rinku tried to flee the spot leaving behind the child but failed in his attempt, Yadav said, adding that a case of abduction has been registered and the accused has been sent to jail.
