Father accused of attempting to sexually assault daughter

A 35-year-old man allegedly attempted to sexually assault his 13-year-old daughter at Ammanpet near here, police said today.

He attempted to target the minor at his house when his wife was present there last evening. When the girl and her mother raised an alarm, he fled, police said.

The girl's mother lodged a police complaint and a case was registered under various sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act-2012 against the girl's father, All Women Police Station Inspector S Sheela said.
