The Revenue Department has given flood alert to three villages in Sathyamangalam taluk.
Heavy rains lashed in Kundry, Kadambur and hill areas in Sathyamangalam forest area since sunday night in these areas.
The Gunderipallam reservoir received very heavy inflow and the 42 feet water level has been reached by today morning. Public Works Department officials said.
Still more than 600 cusecs of water is flowing into the reservoir which was already filled up, the PWD officials had discharged 700 cusecs of water by noon.
The Revenue Department has alerted the Vinobanagar, Kongarpalayam and Vilamkombai villages and asked people living in low lying areas to move to safer places.
