Forest department gets giant lizard

A giant lizard which was found by a footballer at his farm was given to the Forest department here Monday, officials said.
Interacting with mediapersons after donating the lizard to the Forest department at Blyth's Tragopan Conservation and Breeding Centre here, Roko Angami said he found the giant lizard around 3.4 feet long at his farm in Zhadima village.
After receiving the lizard, Forester-I Kohima, Kiukhenshi S. Yimchunger said the species will soon be handed over to Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar Dimapur.
Kiukhenshi acknowledge Angami for coming forward voluntarily, thereby strengthening the wildlife conservation efforts in Nagaland.
