Oscar-winning actor Forest Whitaker has been roped in to feature in a multi-episode arc on "Empire".

The 56-year-old actor will be a part of the fourth installment of Fox's hip-hop drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Whitaker will portray Uncle Eddie, a charismatic music icon and bona fide hitmaker, who gave an unknown Lucious, played by Terrence Howard, his first radio airplay in his struggling days.

The "Arrival" actor reunites with "Empire" co-creator Lee Daniels, with whom he has previously worked on the feature "The Butler".

Last season, actress Demi Moore made her debut in the season-three finale as a nurse aiding Lucious in his recovery after the explosion, setting up a major role in the upcoming season.

Since it started airing, the show has lured A-listers to guest star such as Marisa Tomei, Rosie O'Donnell, Eva Longoria, Chris Rock, Mariah Carey, Taye Diggs, Alicia Keys, and Ludacris, among others.

Season four premieres on September 27.
