Former Pondy CM Venkatasubba Reddiar remembered

Rich tributes were paid to former Chief Minister of Puducherry, V Venkatasubba Reddiar on his 108th birth anniversary here today.
Speaker of territorial assembly V Vaithilingam, Welfare Minister M Kandasamy and functionaries of different wings of the ruling Congress were among those who paid floral tributes at the statue of Reddiar.
Venkatasubba Reddiar was a two term Chief Minister of Puducherry and was also Mayor of Nettapakkam commune panchayat during the French regime here.
He led the freedom movement in Puducherry which culminated in its liberation from the French regime through a referendum held in Kizhoor village near here.
