Four arrested with 15 kg gold

Four persons travelling in Kamrup Express were arrested today and 15 kg gold was seized from them at New Jalpaiguri station.

Acting on a tip-off police swung into action and arrested Prasad Banik, Vijay Kumar, Chandana Devi and Priyangshu Kumari and recovered the gold bars hidden in their suitcase at the station this morning, GRP sources said.

Banik is a resident of Dum Dum in Kolkata and the others hailed from Bihar, sources said.

They were carrying the gold bars from Assam to Kolkata, the police said.
