Four held for cattle slaughter in Sahibabad

A day after recovery of bovine carcasses triggered tension in Sikandarpur area here, police have arrested four persons allegedly involved in stealing and slaughtering of cattle.

The accused have confessed to have thrown the carcasses in Sikandarpur area after slaughtering the animal, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma said.

"SHO Sahibabad Hari Dayal Singh Yadav raided the jungles behind Gagan Vihar near Koyal enclave on Loni Road and nabbed Sonu, Usman, Asif and Haidar Ali," Sharma said. They were arrested on the intervening night of December 21 and 22.

On interrogation, the accused confessed to have stealingand slaughteringbovines surreptitiously, the SSP said.
 

After chopping meat of the bovines they used to throw the carcasses in the jungles of Sikanderpur, he said.

All of them admitted that they had slaughtered cattle on December 21. All the four butchers have been sent to jail by a court.
