The stirke had begun yesterday midnight and has disrupted traffic in the area. It had also affected Torbung and Kangvai localities of Churachandpur district, police said.
Spokesperson of the committee, Ng Sang Gangte said the strike was imposed as the government had failed to respond to the aspiration of the people of Khousabung, even after 40 days had passed since a memorandum was submitted to the authorities.
The committee has been urging the creation of Khousabung sub-division ever since the Manipur cabinet resolved to change the name of Thangting sub-division to Kangvai sub-division on February 10 this year.
