Police today claimed to have busted a gang of alleged robbers with arrest of three of its members near Charik bridge here.

Five gang members were allegedly planning a major robbery last night when a police party, on the basis of a tip-off, raided their venue and arrested three of them, police said.

Two others managed to escape even though police managed to identify them, they said.

The arrested members were identified as the gang's kingpin Kulwinder Singh and his accomplices Amrinder Singh and Amandeep Singh, police said.

Police also seized Rs 20 lakh cash, four motorcycles, a laptop, hockey sticks and baseball bats from them.

"All these seizures were stolen items," police said.
