A girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Kotwali area here, police said today.
The deceased has been identified as Parul (18), daughter of Sudhir Shukl and a B.A. Student in D.G. College, a police spokesperson said.
The incident happened last night when Parul's mother, Radha had gone to meet some relatives and the girl was alone in the house. She hanged herself from the ceiling with a piece of a cloth.
Police sent the body for post-mortem. Preliminary investigations show that the girl was upset with her family. Further probe is going on, police said.
