Girl missing, hunt on for teacher

Police are on the look out for a school teacher after a 17-year-old girl student went missing mysteriously.

The girl, a class 11 student in a private matriculation school at Kammampatti near Vazhapadi in Salem District reportedly went to the house of her teacher, S Ramesh (32) on January 20 for tuition, police said.

She, however, did not return home and her father lodged a complaint alleging that the teacher had kidnapped her.

An FIR has been registered and a hunt is on for the teacher who is now absconding.
