Gladys Knight to guest star in Lee Daniels' series
Singer Gladys Knight will join Queen Latifah in Lee Daniels' new TV series "Star."
The "Midnight Train to Georgia" hitmaker will play herself on the show, which follows the rise of a trio of aspiring singers, portrayed by newcomers Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O'Grady.
She joins a cast which also includes Benjamin Bratt, Naomi Campbell, and Lenny Kravitz.
Daniels created the show with Tom Donaghy, and also directed the pilot episode.
A 2017 premiere date has yet to be set.
