Gold prices fell by 0.26 per cent to Rs 27,189 per 10 gram in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions amid weak global cues.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in February month fell by Rs 71, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 27,189 per ten gram in business turnover of 211 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in April contracts traded lower by Rs 67, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 27,141 per ten gram in 11 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in gold futures was mostly in tune with a weak trend overseas.
Globally, gold fell by 0.06 per cent to USD 1,137 an ounce in Singapore.
