Assam government was committed to aide the intellectual, social and spiritual development of children, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said Wednesday on the occasion of the Children's Day.
Children are the future of the country and nucleus of human resources, the chief minister said at a function organised to celebrate the Day.
"Without the development of children, a state cannot progress. So my government is giving paramount importance for the all round development of children," Sonowal said.
All parents dream of making their child great and so, on the occasion of the Children's Day, all should take a pledge to help children realize their full potentials, he said.
"Since children constitute a sizeable chunk of human resources of the country, a conducive environment needs to be given to them so that they can become good human beings and help in the development of the country," he added.
