Jharkhand Government today announced that it would celebrate child's 'annaprasana' ceremony to promote breast feeding in villages.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Raghubar Das during a programme at Namkum on the outskirts of the capital.
"Muh juthi (Annaprasana, a ritual to mark a child's first intake of solid food) ceremony of six month old children will be organised in villages," Das said.
He asked health department officials to make the villagers aware of nutritious food and to ensure that civil surgeons and auxiliary nurse midwife meet every month and review health services, according to an official release.
