Gram dal falls sharply

In contrast to last two week's steep rise in the price of gram dal, today on the opening day its price dipped sharply in the wholesale foodgrain market.

Prices of Urad dal,moong dal, and maida(90 kg) decreased while that of wheat increased.

Urad dal was down by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 14,700 from Rs 14900.

Moong dal moved down by Rs.300 per quintal to Rs 8,500 from Rs 8,800.

Maida (90 kg)opened the day at Rs 50 less from Rs 2650 to Rs 2,600.

Wheat was marginally up by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 2,900 from Rs 2.850.
 

Prices of thoor dal,sugar and sooji prices ruled steady.

Following are the wholesale rates of various agri- commodities (rates in rupees per quintal, unless stated otherwise): Toor Dal Rs 13,500, Urad Dal Rs 14,700, Moong Dal Rs 8,500 Gram Dal Rs 9,900, Sugar Rs 3,900, Wheat Rs 2,900, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,600 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 3,200.
