Guar gum futures up on domestic demand

Guar gum prices on Wednesday gained Rs 93 to Rs 6,810 per five quintal in futures trade as speculators widened their holdings on spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum contracts for February delivery traded higher by 1.38 per cent, or Rs 93, at Rs 6,810 per five quintal with an open interest of 3,215 lots.

Likewise, the delivery of March contracts surged by Rs 98, or 1.44 per cent, to Rs 6,895 per five quintal as open interest stood at 55,865 lots.

Analysts said after tracking firm physical market trend, traders raised their bets which led to rise in guar gum prices.
