Guargum prices drifted lower by Rs 30 to Rs 5,450 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators locked-in gains at higher levels amid weak trends at the the domestic spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guargum delivery July softened by Rs 30 or 0.55 per cent to Rs 5,450 per quintal, having an open interest of 33,289 lots.
Also, guargum for delivery in far-month October fell by Rs 30 or 0.51 per cent to Rs 5,820 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 23,025 lots.
Marketmen said apart from profit-booking at current levels by speculators, fall in demand at the domestic spot markets kept pressure on guargum prices at futures trade.
